These days, Sam Oshana’s main business is loaning capital to individuals and small companies, using their real estate as collateral. He is also now a Florida real estate broker. That said, as much as he loves making money for himself and his clients, he would love to spend more time following the exploits of his beloved hometown Boston sports teams. No matter how old he gets, Sam Oshana was, is, and probably always will be thrilled when one of his beloved Boston teams enhances the city’s growing reputation as a city of champions.

Of course, Sam Oshana is particularly fond of his hometown Boston Celtics basketball team of the National Basketball Association. There is nothing difficult about being a Celtics fan. In fact, between the 1958-1959 season and the 1965-1966 seasons, the Celtics won 8 championships in a row, and 11 out of 13 in roughly the same span in the 1950s and 1960s. Another Boston sports team of which Samuel Oshana is quite fond are the New England Patriots. The Boston Patriots were an original team in the American Football League, as a way to get professional football back in the city. The AFL started play in 1961 and the league was so successful, they merged with the older NFL in 1970. In 2002, the team started playing at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, which was closer to Rhode Island than Boston, so the team changed its name to the New England Patriots. Since then, they have been remarkably successful. In many cases, they have been referred to as a dynasty.

Over the past couple decades, at least since the beginning of the 21st Century,, the Boston Red Sox have won the World Series in Major League Baseball and the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl championship in the National Football League. Even now, after losing the venerable Tom Brady to free agency, they Patriots are back in contention for another Super Bowl.
